The testimony of Jason Bechtel

Jason Bechtel is one of four men who completed Basic Induction at Teen Challenge of Greater Cleveland, in Perry, Ohio, on June 24, 2010, and moved on to Teen Challenge International Mid America, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, for the ten month Advanced Training Phase. Here is Jason’s testimony...

“I was born in 1980 into a godly home. I spent five years as a child in India with my parents who were planting churches. When we came back to the States my father became the pastor of an Assembly of God church in New Jersey, so I spent a lot of time in church.
“I began to rebel against the authority of my parents during my early teenage years and quickly got involved with drugs and alcohol. By the age of 18 I was heavily addicted enough to go to a Teen Challenge, but once there, I was unwilling to surrender my life to Christ.
“This led to another ten years of hurt, loss and destruction in my life, as I battled drugs and alcohol addiction. Running from God led me down a path that included drug overdoses, jail time, and multiple suicide attempts.
“Through it all, my family was praying for me, and God let me live. In 2009 I began praying for God’s help with my life-controlling problems, and He led me to Teen Challenge of Greater Cleveland. Once here, I surrendered my will to God, and He has begun doing an amazing thing in my heart and life.
“Gone are the anxiety and depression that plagued me for so long. Now I have peace and joy in my heart. No longer do I struggle with using drugs and alcohol. Now I am free. I thank God for His blessings.”

Truly whom the Son makes free is free indeed!

ABC'S of Salvation

Knowing your sins are forgiven and you are ready for heaven is as simple as following these steps:

  • A. Admit you have sinned.

    • "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." (1 John 1:8)

  • B. Believe in the Savior (JESUS).

    • "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

  • C. Confess and forsake your sin.

    • "If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9)
